Saved this to my phone and now I check it every time I'm in a vintage shop — the hardware and logo section alone has saved me from two bad purchases.
The luxurious fabrics section made me rethink my whole approach to basics. I used to grab whatever denim was on sale, but after reading that Saint Laurent elevates basics through texture, I started paying attention to fabric weight and finish. Picked up a high-quality silk blouse last week and the difference in how an outfit comes together is unreal. This tiny checklist shifted my entire shopping filter.
Four pages, zero filler — exactly what a style reference should be.
The monochrome palette breakdown is so precise it actually trained my eye 🖤
I run a resale account and this checklist became my authentication shortcut. The point about buckles, zippers, and buttons being sleek and never clunky is the fastest tell when sorting through consignment inventory. I laminated it and keep it at my desk. Before this, I was spending twenty minutes per piece cross-referencing forums. Now I can filter in seconds. The rock-and-roll edge section also helped me write better listing descriptions — customers respond to that language.
🖤⚡✨👠🔥
The tip about loud prints being rare — that Saint Laurent whispers instead of shouts — is the most elegant style advice I've read all year.
Punchy and useful. Taped it inside my closet door.
I've been thrifting for years but never had a clear mental model for identifying the Saint Laurent aesthetic versus generic minimalism. This checklist gave me one. The distinction between edgy-but-elegant leather and just plain leather jackets sounds obvious once you read it, but I'd been missing it. Took the checklist to a flea market last Saturday, spotted a lambskin crossbody I would've walked past before, and it turned out to be exactly the piece my wardrobe was missing.
Slim stiletto, Chelsea boot, or pointed pump — that shoe section is a cheat code for spotting the real thing.
Short enough to memorize, detailed enough to actually be useful.
The minimalist accessories section nailed it — thin belts and delicate chains over oversized logos.
Solid checklist but I would've loved a visual comparison section showing what passes versus what doesn't. The written descriptions are clear — especially the hardware and logo check — but side-by-side photos would make it even faster to use in real shopping situations.
✅👌🖤
My sister and I both use this now — she checks tailoring and silhouettes, I focus on the leather and fabric sections. Between the two of us we haven't made a regrettable purchase since downloading it. The quick recap at the end is perfect for when you're standing in a store and need a thirty-second refresher. It's become part of our shopping ritual and honestly made the whole experience more intentional and fun.
The rock-and-roll edge description — rebellious but polished, always effortless — is the most accurate two-line summary of the brand I've seen.
Printed it, folded it into my wallet, used it twice this week already.
I'm a personal stylist and I've been sending this to clients who want the Saint Laurent look but don't know where to start. The eight categories cover exactly the right ground — silhouettes, leather, palette, shoes, hardware, edge, fabrics, accessories — without overwhelming anyone. It works as both an education tool and a quick reference. One client texted me a photo from a store asking if a jacket matched the checklist. It did. She bought it and it's now her favorite piece.
That one line about oversized logos not being in the Saint Laurent vocabulary says everything 🔥
Clean, fast, and actually fits in a screenshot.
The cashmere and high-quality denim callout in the fabrics section upgraded my shopping standards overnight.
